]]>Pusha-T talked with Vanity Fair on Friday and said that the beef between him and Drake is now over.
“It’s all over with,” Pusha-T said. “These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over.”
“It doesn’t really distract me, man. I feel like everything happens for a reason. This is a part of hip-hop. It’s a part of hip-hop that my fans actually love… I’m ready to be back to the music for real. Just feeding my base, that’s it. That’s the most important thing to me at all times,” he added.
Pusha-T and Drake had their differences in the past and have been on bad terms over the past couple of years. Things became worse back in May when Pusha-T released a song titled “Infrared” on his new album Daytona, in which he accused Drake of using a ghostwriter.
Drake was quick to respond with two diss tracks, “Duppy Freestyle” and “I’m Upset,” insulting both Pusha-T and Kanye West.
Then Pusha-T took things to a whole new level with his response “The Story of Adidon,” in which he didn’t choose his punches, mentioning even Drake’s alleged child with former pornstar Sophie Brussaux. For the song cover, he decided to use a picture of Drake wearing a blackface makeup alongside Jim Crow t-shirt and hoodie.
Drake didn’t respond to the “The Story of Adidon,” but has issued a statement in which he explained the cover photo.
Since then, several prominent rap figures, including Kanye West and Rap-a-Lot Records founder J. Prince, urged Pusha-T and Drake to stop their beef before it goes too far. It looks like they listened.
