Pet Shop Boys is back with some new music this week, presenting three singles from their upcoming EP Agenda. In these new songs, British synth-pop duo, comprised of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, tackle some of the burning political and social themes including U.S. President Donald Trump, Brexit, people’s relationship with social media and many others.

Agenda, recorded in late 2018, will contain four tracks produced by Tim Powell and Pet Shop Boys. These songs won’t be included on the duo’s upcoming studio album which will be released in the fall of 2019.

“It contains three satirical songs and one rather sad song,” – said Tennant of Agenda in a statement. “I think it’s because of the times we’re living through.”

Pet Shop Boys revealed three songs from the EP so far, with the fourth one expected to be out by the end of the week.

First song “Give stupidity a chance” was described as “a satirical song about the poor quality of political leadership in the modern world.”

“On social media” was released at the same time as “Give stupidity a chance,” and is rather self-explanatory.

Finally, “What are we going to do about the rich?,” was released day after the previous two and is described as “a sort of mock-protest song.”
