We haven’t seen Paul McCartney perform live since headlining Glastonbury last year, but he’s getting ready to get back on the road. The Beatles singer announced he’ll continue his Got Back Tour with a series of dates across Australia this fall.

McCartney teased his return to touring with a cryptic video on social media, captioned with words “got to get you into my life,” followed by a guitar emoji. It didn’t take him long to reveal he’s officially going back to touring and announce six new dates across Australia.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years. Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you,” wrote McCartney in an official statement.

McCartney kicked off Got Back Tour in April last year, and we’ve seen him perform across North America before concluding the tour in Europe, with his headlining Glastonbury spot. He hasn’t performed live since, but he’s now ready to get back on the road and perform in Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast in October and November, with more tour dates to come.

Glastonbury is one of the year’s most highly-anticipated festivals, and the latest edition lived up to the hype. From Elton John’s historic set to Lewis Capaldi’s emotional stage fright, we’re bringing you some viral moments that this year’s Glastonbury will be remembered by.

Elton John’s Career-Spanning Set

Elton John performed his last UK show at Glastonbury, and it was one for the books! He brought everyone from The Killers’ Brandon Flowers to Rina Sawayama on stage while performing some of his biggest hits.

A-List Surprise Guests

Speaking of surprise guests, Glastonbury was an embarrassment of the riches. Paul McCartney and Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl joined The Pretenders on stage, while Jack Harlow performed “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X’s side.

Lewis Capaldi’s Stage Fright

Lewis Capaldi was very open about his struggles with Tourette’s syndrome, and his ticks kicked in at Glastonbury. In one of the festival’s most emotional moments, the crowd sang his smash hit “Someone You Loved” after his voice broke, giving him enough time to gain composure.

Rina Sawayama Calling Out Matty Healy

Rina Sawayama delivered one of the festival’s most viral moments when she subtly called out The 1975’s Matty Healy for some of his problematic behavior before performing the song “STFU”.

Lana Del Rey’s Set Cut Short

Lana Del Rey’s performance was dramatically cut short at midnight due to the festival’s curfew, and fans were left with a sour taste in their mouth after security escorted her off stage.

Most artists are speaking against artificial intelligence these days, but Paul McCartney decided to embrace this trend. After announcing he’s trying to craft a final song by The Beatles with the help of AI, the iconic singer cleared some confusion surrounding this project.

Earlier this month, McCartney told Radio 4’s Today Programme that he extracted John Lennon’s vocals from an old demo track with the help of AI technology. He didn’t reveal the name of the song in question, but it’s most likely he was talking about the 1978 track “Now and Then”.

Fans of the iconic British band weren’t too crazy about the idea of using AI to revive their sound. After receiving intense backlash, McCartney took to social media to address speculations surrounding this project and said it won’t be a classic AI-generated song.

“Seems to be a lot of guess work out there. Can’t say too much at this stage but to be clear, nothing has been artificially or synthetically created. It’s all real and we all play on it. We cleaned up some existing recordings – a process which has gone on for years,” wrote McCartney on Twitter.

McCartney also said that he finds the process of using artificial intelligence to make music “scary”, adding that we’ll just have to see where it leads because “it’s the future.”

McCartney III follows McCartney II which was released in 1980. McCartney II was the follow-up to McCartney, his first post-Beatles solo project which was released in 1970.

The albums were spaced 10 years apart and they were solo projects, with no other musicians involved.

McCartney has been posting photos to social media with triplicates of various items including flowers, mushrooms, and a single rose. Glastonbury Festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, and it picked the perfect headliner to mark the occasion. Paul McCartney will be in charge of leading the lineup of the biggest festival in the UK in 2020.

There’s been a lot of rumors circling around about McCartney’s participation, and he added some fuel to the fire by posting a photo of Philip Glass, Emma Stone, and Chuck Berry on Twitter. Since their last names spell the word “Glass-Stone- Berry”, his fans took it as a sign he’ll be headlining this festival.

It turns out they were right when Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis confirmed he’ll be performing at the upcoming edition of the legendary festival shortly after he posted this “subtle” clue.

“IT’S REAL!! So excited… Having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid next year is an absolute dream come true. There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary,” wrote Eavis on Twitter.

Glastonbury 2020 is set to take place from June 26-30, and we’re yet to find out who’ll join the music icon on this legendary stage.

There are certain Beatles facts that we all accept as gospel: George Harrison only got in one song out of ten, Ringo Starr wasn’t the best drummer in the band, John Lennon was high when they recorded “It’s Getting Better”, Paul McCartney is the walrus, and Abbey Road was the band’s planned goodbye to their fans.

But recently, new evidence has surfaced that shed light on what really took place back in 1970 when the biggest band in the world called it quits. historian and Beatles expert Mark Lewisohn has uncovered a recording of a band meeting where McCartney brings up plans for a follow-up album to Abbey Road.

“The books have always told us that they knew Abbey Road was their last album and they wanted to go out on an artistic high,” Lewisohn said in an interview to The Guardian last month. “But no – they’re discussing the next album.”

And now we have additional confirmation from drummer Ringo Starr, who spoke with BBC 6. Starr said: “We did do Abbey Road and we was like, ‘Okay that’s pretty good…but none of us said, ‘OK, that’s the last time we’ll ever play together’. Nobody said that. I never felt that.

“So it was not the end – because in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make,” Starr quoted the song “The End” which seals Abbey Road.

Next year will mark 50 years since The Beatles broke up as well as the 40-year anniversary of John Lennon’s tragic and premature death by deranged assassin Mark Chapman.

Even though many of his current fans were born years after the fact, the world still remembers Lennon as one of its most important musical and cultural figures. And bandmate Sir Paul McCartney hasn’t forgotten about him either.

“I dream about him,” McCartney told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show this week. “When you’ve had a relationship like that for so long, such a deep relationship… I love when people revisit you in your dreams.

“I often have band dreams, and I’m often with John [in them]… I have a lot of dreams about John, and they’re always good.”

When The Beatles decided to call it quits back in 1970, much of the public’s ire was directed at McCartney. “When the Beatles broke up, a lot of the talk was that, like, I was the villain, and that John and I didn’t really get on well.”

“I kinda bought into it,” he admitted before explaining how he eventually came to realize they were truly good friends all along.

Ringo Starr’s next studio album is coming our way in about a month and it will feature a mini-Beatles reunion. Legendary drummer tapped his former bandmate Paul McCartney for a special rendition of one of the last songs written by the late John Lennon.

“Grow Old with Me” was recorded as a demo by Lennon in 1980, and was later released as a part of his posthumous album Milk and Honey. Remaining members of the Beatles later tried to work on some of Lennon’s unfinished songs, but this was never one of them.

While discussing the new version of this song, Ringo Starr admitted that he still wells up when he thinks of Lennon, and he did his best to do him justice alongside McCartney.

“The other good thing is that I really wanted Paul to play on it, and he said yes. Paul came over and he played bass and sings a little bit on this with me. So John’s on it in a way. I’m on it and Paul’s on it. It’s not a publicity stunt. This is just what I wanted,” said Starr in a statement.

“Grow Old with Me” will be featured on Starr’s 20th studio album What’s My Name, scheduled to be released on October 25th.

Paul McCartney has confessed that he sometimes struggles to remember how to play old Beatles songs.

The Beatles released thirteen studio albums in their time. Add this to the 25 solo albums and records released with Wings, and you’re looking at 40 albums worth of music. It is therefore unsurprising that McCartney may struggle to remember the odd tune from his vault of songs.

“I have to re-learn everything. I’ve written an awful lot, you can’t retain them all. We go in rehearsal and I’m, ‘Oh yeah, that’s how it goes,’” McCartney confessed to The Mirror.

The Beatles legend may have forgotten how to play some of his old tracks, but that does not mean that he no longer considers them to be good music. When asked if he thinks his songs are “pretty good”, McCartney replied:

“I do, I really do. Some of the old songs you say, ‘Oh, that’s clever, I wouldn’t have done that’. It’s exciting to think that still works. We were a little rock and roll group from Liverpool, it just kept going.”

Currently, McCartney is working on his first musical, It’s A Wonderful Life.

McCartney also said that he finds the process of using artificial intelligence to make music “scary”, adding that we’ll just have to see where it leads because “it’s the future.”
