Farewell tours have become pretty popular in the last couple of years, with music acts like Slayer, Kiss, Elton John, and Ozzy Osbourne announcing that they are embarking on one last tour. But, as it turns out, Osbourne and his No More Tours 2 were completely misunderstood by everyone. According to the 70-year-old former Black Sabbath frontman, he will continue to tour after this but won’t do it so “extensively.”

“People have gotten that all wrong,” Osbourne told Pasadena Star-News in a recent interview. “The tour should have been the ‘Ozzy Osbourne Slowing Down’ tour. What I’m actually doing is not going out on Jan. 1 and coming back on Dec. 31. I’ll still tour, but not as extensively like I have been for the last 50 years.”

“I have grandchildren now, and I’m 70 years old, and I don’t want to be found dead in a hotel room somewhere. I’m going to do it at a more leisurely pace and do some shows in Vegas … but I’ll never stop,” he continued. “The whole lifestyle I have lived, it has all come down to the fact that there are people who want to hear me and as long as they want to hear me, I’m there.”

Earlier this year, Ozzy Osbourne announced that he is embarking on a two-year farewell tour across North and South America, Europe, and Mexico. Shortly after, he decided to clarify his decision by saying that he will still do live gigs but won’t be touring around the world. If he keeps on changing his mind, we might soon watch Osbourne reforming Black Sabbath once again. Not that anyone would complain.

Although he is about to embark on a two-year farewell tour with dates in Mexico, South America, and Europe, Ozzy Osbourne isn’t retiring from music. The former Black Sabbath frontman recently spoke with Rolling Stone magazine about his plans for the future, and discussed the farewell tour, saying it doesn’t mean he won’t do occasional gigs.

“I’m not retiring,” – Osbourne told Rolling Stone. “It’s ‘No More Tours,’ so I’m just not doing world tours anymore. I’m still going to be doing gigs, but I’m not going on tour for six months at a time anymore. I’d like to spend some time at home.”

This won’t be Ozzy’s first farewell tour since he already did one in the ’90s calling it “No More Tours”. The upcoming one will be called “No More Tours 2” and this time he might be serious about the whole “not touring anymore” thing.

“I’ve experienced fantastic things; it’s been an incredible journey,” – he said. “I just need to slow it down a little.”

Ozzy also discussed the songs he will play on the farewell tour saying that ‘Paranoid’ and ‘Crazy Train’ will certainly be on the list and that he also wants to include ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ and ‘No More Tears’, alongside ‘Waiting for Darkness’, song he never performed live before. North America’s leg of the tour will kick off in April with a show in Jacksonville and is planned to wrap up with a Las Vegas show in October 2018. The band that will back Ozzy Osbourne on the tour will include his longtime collaborators: guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman.
