]]>Jones confirmed the release of her next LP in an official statement, and described it as a vibrant and joyous record that taps into “feeling free, wanting to dance, making it right, and acceptance of what life brings.”
She opted for the title Visions because a lot of the ideas for this album came to her in the middle of the night or right before sleep. The lead single “Running” is the case in point, and Jones said it’s one of the songs “where you’re half asleep and kind of jolted awake.”
Leon Michels helped her produce this album, and they approached most songs the same way—with Jones on the piano or guitar and Michel on drums.
“I like the rawness between me and Leon, the way it sounds kind of garage-y but also kind of soulful because that’s where he’s coming from, but also not overly perfected,” said Jones in the statement.
Visions will be released on March 8 via Blue Note Records, and it serves as the follow-up to her 2020 album Pick Me Up Off the Floor.

]]>This week marked the release of Gunna’s surprise new album A Gift & A Curse, and one of its best songs “Back to the Moon” made it to our list. If you’re a fan of a stronger sound, Queens of the Stone Age also dropped a new album and impressed us with the song “Straight Jacket Fitting”.
After a lot of anticipation, Doja Cat gave us a taste of her new sound with her comeback single “Attention”. This song will serve as the lead single on her upcoming fourth studio album, and she’s currently trying to shed her pop sound and make her new music predominately rap.
Our list also includes several rising stars, including Coi Leray, who’s been giving us amazing new music week after week, including her new brand-new single “Run It Up”. The Idol soundtrack is also represented on our list, with the souring ballad “Family” making the final cut.
