Cyrus originally told Vogue that “singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love” while adding that “there’s no connection” and that she finds stadiums and arenas “isolating”. Her comments received a lot of attention online, prompting the 30-year-old singer to post a note for her fans on social media.

According to Cyrus, she feels connected with her fans more than ever and is constantly trying to find ways to stay connected with them. She continued by saying that her decision to take a hiatus from touring doesn’t mean that she doesn’t appreciate her fans but that she isn’t ready to live life on the road at the moment.  

“I just don’t want to sleep on a moving bus,” Cyrus wrote. “It isn’t what’s best for me right NOW, & if you’ve been following my career, you know that I always change, and the way I feel about that could too. Love you forever; I’m just on my Endless Summer Vacation.” 

Cyrus released Endless Summer Vacation, her eighth studio album, back in March. The album was a huge hit, reaching No. 3 on US Billboard 200 and topping the UK Albums charts. The single “Flowers” spent eight weeks at No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and broke several streaming records.
