]]>Smartpunk first tried to fill the bracket themselves but realized that is a lot more challenging than it seemed. So, they turned to Hoppus for help.
Hoppus was quick to respond, filling out the bracket in “two minutes.” Choosing between prominent singles and fan favorites, he narrowed down a list of 64 songs to “Dammit,” “I Miss You,” “All the Small Things,” “Rock Show,” “What’s My Age Again,” “First Date,” “Feeling This,” and “Adam’s Song.”
After beating out “I Miss You” in the finals, “Feeling This” ended up taking the throne.
As he noted in the tweet, Hoppus didn’t shy away from arguing with those who disagreed. When someone questioned his choice of “Adam’s Song” over “Stay Together for the Kids,” he responded: “It’s a free country and you’re allowed to be shamefully wrong.”
He also explained some of his reasoning for picking “Feeling This” by tweeting: “That magic-in-a-bottle feeling. It’s the apex of blink-182. The best of all of us. It was different and new and (in my opinion) groundbreaking.”

]]>Last month, the pop-punk icons released images on social media and revealed that they are back in the studio working on new material.
While no dates have been given as to when fans can expect to treat themselves to new material, Hoppus did provide an update.
He wrote on Twitter: “Early days still but the newest blink-182 songs sound like they pick up where Take Off Your Pants and Jacket left off.”

The fact that the new material could sound like Take Off Your Pants and Jacket will certainly be good for Blink die-hards. Released in 2001, that album produced classical Blink songs such as ”First Date,” ”The Rock Show” and ”Stay together for the Kids.”

]]>Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker from the band both posted teasers on Snapchat of the band in the studio. Hoppus posted a snap of Barker drumming and captioned the image “New Blink-182 Songs, Day One.”
Barker went on to post a picture of himself and Hoppus staring into the eyes of each other, and it appeared that they were both happy with the material that they are churning out.
The last album the band released was 2016’s California, which was largely positively received.
California was the first Blink 182 album to feature vocals form Matt Skiba, who replaced Tom Delonge.
Blink 182 are widely considered to be one of the best pop-punk bands of all-time and have released hits such as “All The Small Things,” “Rock Show,” “What’s My Age Again” and “Feeling this.”
The band are not the force that they were during their heyday in the early 2000’s, but they can still put up a good rock show and release good material as they proved in 2016 with California.
