]]>Kravitz will be presented with the Music Icon Award during the ceremony at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on February 18. The “Fly Away” singer will also take the stage at the event, performing a mashup of his biggest hits.
Kravitz is no stranger to awards, including receiving the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance four years in a row (1999-2002), which still stands as the record for most consecutive Grammys by a male performer in one category. The 59-year-old singer might also pick up a few more awards this year, with his track “Road to Freedom”, written for Netflix’s drama Rustin, being up for the Best Original Song at the Golden Globes.
“Lenny’s musical gift is truly unmatched,” said Jen Neal, NBC Universal Entertainment’s EVP for Live Events and Specials. “We’re thrilled to honor him as this year’s Music Icon and look forward to seeing what he brings to the stage.”
Lenny Kravitz is also gearing up for the release of his twelfth studio album, Blue Electric Light. The record, his first in six years, will come out on March 15. Kravitz presented the album’s lead single, “TK421”, back in October.

]]>Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” is definitely the week’s most exciting new release, and it was worth waiting for. The British singer made an epic comeback with this song, which is as catchy as some of her biggest hits, while also allowing you to embrace a new psychedelic sound.
This week also marked the release of debut albums of some of the biggest Gen-Z rising stars. PinkPantheress knocked us off our feet with Heaven Knows, and gave us another amazing collaboration with “Nice To Meet You” ft. Central Cee. The Kid LAROI also finally released his highly-anticipated debut studio album The First Time and promoted its release with the new song “Sorry”.
It was an amazing week for Gen-Z stars overall, and several others made it to our list of the best songs. Gracie Abrams impressed us with her new single “Cedar”, Tierra Whack gave us another quirky bop with “Chanel Pit”, Dove Cameron kept exploring her edgy side with “Sand”, while Jack Harlow continued his rise through the hip-hop ranks with“Lovin On Me”.

]]>There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding Gaga’s performance, and she stayed quiet even after the rest of the best song-nominated artists confirmed they’ll take part in the ceremony. She eventually told the producers she’ll attend the ceremony, but she won’t have time to prepare a musical number because she’s busy shooting Joker: Folie à Deux alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
Lady Gaga is no stranger to performing at the Oscars, and this marks her third best original song nomination. She previously delivered powerful performances of the Diane Warren collaboration “Til It Happens to You” from The Hunting Ground and “Shallow” from A Star Is Born.
The list of performers at the Oscars on Sunday will include Rihanna (“Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Sofia Carson and Diane Warren (“Applause” from Tell It Like a Woman), David Byrne, Son Lux, and Stephanie Hsu (“This Is a Life” from Everything Everywhere All at Once), and Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava (“Naatu Naatu” from RRR). Lenny Kravitz is also set to perform during the “In Memoriam” segment.
