]]>No album this week created more commotion than Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets and its companion piece The Anthology. She’s given us 16 new songs on the standard edition and 31 in total, but “So Long, London” is definitely her strongest new release.
This Friday was pretty slow for new releases because most artists wanted to avoid competing with Swift. That didn’t stop Pearl Jam from sharing their long-awaited album Dark Matter, which produced several amazing songs, including “Wreckage”.
The lack of major releases helped our favorite indie and international artists shine, and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week. Hozier’s “Why Would You Be Loved” is definitely worth listening to on repeat, and so are the latest singles by Rachel Chinouriri, Debbii Dawson, Kings of Leon, Kate Nash, and more.

]]>Nash kicks off “Change” by singing about believing in a fresh start, and these lyrics match the underlying message of the song – that relationships are ever-evolving and that it requires a lot of effort to maintain them.
“You also have to learn to accept when a relationship is over, whether it’s a romantic relationship or a friendship or a working relationship or even something within yourself that has become toxic or negative in some way. Things end and that’s OK,” said Nash in the statement.
“Change” was released by the singer’s new label Kill Rock Stars. The singer said she’s looking forward to working with such an important indie label with an incredible music history after over a decade as an independent artist.
Nash’s last album Yesterday Was Forever was released independently in 2018, and it saw the singer going back to her indie pop roots, while also toying with punk and rock sound. She dropped hints about her fifth studio album Nine Sad Symphonies just last year, but there’s no news yet if she’s still developing it under the new label.
