]]> According to his fellow collaborator CyHi The Prince, Kanye West has been recently getting back to work on his “Donda” album.

If you’re wondering what exactly “Donda” is, it’s the album that West promised would be released in the summer of 2020. He even went so far as to share the artwork mockup for the project. Unfortunately, the album was never released.

With all of the commotion of COVID-19 and a handful of other popular albums getting released, the idea of “Donda” was momentarily forgotten. Only West diehards kept wondering what had happened to the album that was promised but never came to be.

Luckily for them, CyHi’s recent statements should be an optimistic sign for things to come. In an interview with VladTV, CyHi claimed that he and West continued working on the album “late last year”, and that they’re still working on it now.

CyHi revealed: “Once November, December, January comes around, [West] kind of takes a hiatus, a little vacation break, get with the family. We’re back working, that’s why I’m out here, too.”

CyHi was also asked in the interview how West was faring after his divorce from socialite Kim Kardashian. He responded that West was “in good spirits”. This new information, along with a possible upcoming album, is nothing but great news regarding the famous rapper.

]]> Kanye West is taking a break from his presidential campaign this week to release a new album. West recently confirmed that his tenth studio release, titled Donda, is scheduled to drop on July 24th.

West previously shared a tracklist that contained 20 songs but deleted it from Twitter shortly after. Then, today, he posted another tracklist, this one containing 12 songs.

An interesting thing about the tracklist is that there is no single “Wash Us in the Blood,” which was released back in June and featured Travis Scott. However, West included track “New Body,” which supposed to be part of his 2019’s album Jesus is King.

Kanye West’s new album was first confirmed back in May by video artist Arthur Jafa, who revealed that the name of the record will be God’s Country. West officially announced the project under that title in June, when he released “Wash Us in the Blood.”

The album, which was in the meantime named after West’s late mother Donda, was reportedly recorded in early 2020 in Mexico. The list of West’s collaborators is still to be revealed, although Pusha T previously confirmed he was involved in the recording sessions.

The song was produced by West alongside some of his frequent collaborators like BoogzDaBeast, Ronny J, and FNZ. The rapper previously revealed that the mix was handled by the legendary Dr. Dre.

“Wash Us in the Blood” represents Kanye West’s first new work since 2019’s Christian hip-hop record Jesus Is King. The song is expected to serve as the opening single for West’s upcoming studio album God’s Country according to rapper’s social media posts.

There isn’t much info about the album so far, but the GQ’s Will Welch managed to hear some snippets of it back in April and described them as “worship songs.” Multiple reports say that the record should be out by the end of the year.

]]> Kanye West either stays low-key or goes big. After months of speculations that he is working on a new album, the 40-year-old rapper went on Twitter on Thursday and confirmed that he will release not one, but two albums.

“My album is 7 songs,” West wrote on his Twitter profile, before revealing June 1st release date.

Shortly after he also announced a collaboration album with Cleveland-born hip-hop artist Kid Cudi, which will be out June 8th. West also wrote that the collab release will be titled Kids See Ghost, which is a name of the group he and Kid Cudi formed.

Kids See Ghost won’t be the first project that will see Kanye West and Kid Cudi joining forces. Cudi’s first two albums, 2009’s Man on the Moon: The End of Day and 2010’s Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, were released on West’s G.O.O.D. Music label and Kanye was featured on both of them. Cudi returned the favor by appearing on all of Kanye’s previous five studio albums.

Kanye West’s most recent release was 2016’s The Life of Pablo, which was positively received and became the rapper’s seventh consecutive number one album at the Billboard 200. Kid Cudi provided vocals on songs “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” and “Waves.”

Shortly after The Life of Pablo was released, Kanye announced he will release an album titled Turbo Grafx 16 in the summer of the same year. That, unfortunately, wasn’t the case but we hope that this time Kanye will stay true to his word.
