]]>“‘Never The Heroes’ is about the courageous men and women that enter war, never trained to be heroes but becoming heroic due to their actions and sacrifices doing their duty for their people and country,” said the band in a statement. “It resonates as there is a hero in all of us and in times of struggle we can be strong and united, conquering our own challenges and helping others.”
Judas Priest started working on a new album in 2016, teaming up with producer Tom Allom who worked with the band on their 1988’s Ram It Down. The band started with the recording in January 2017, later revealing that the album will be called Firepower. Guitarist Richie Faulkner and Travis spoke about the album mid-February, saying it will be heavier than the Redeemer of Souls and contain faster tracks.
The band also announced a worldwide tour which is scheduled to kick off on March 13th in Pennsylvania with bands Saxon and Black Star Riders serving as supporting acts. Guitarist Glenn Tipton won’t be a part of the tour due to him being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He will be replaced by Hell’s Andy Sneap, although the band said Tipton will make a guest appearance during the tour.
