]]>March 31 marked the release of some of the most anticipated albums of the whole month, including Chlöe’s debut solo LP In Pieces and Melanie Martinez’s concept album Portals. Both albums gave us about a dozen amazing new tracks, and we made sure to include them on our list.
If we had to pick our favorite new album of the week, Boygenius would take the cake. Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus finally shared their first joint album with the world and promoted its release with the short film “The Film”, which included three songs from this record.
Tyler, the Creator also surprised us with a new edition of his last album titled Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale, which features several new songs, including “Sorry Not Sorry”.
This week has also been great for fans of hip-hop, K-pop, and Latin music, with Quavo, Becky G, and Blackpink’s Jisooo making it to our list.

]]>The music video for “Flower” sees Jisoo dance to the beat of her new song in several different locations, from a hotel lobby to empty streets. The video is divided into three chapters—Next Day, Same Time, and Same Place—and she can be seen wearing numerous elaborate outfits along the way.
“Flowers” was released as a part of Jisoo’s debut single album Me, alongside the B-side track “All Eyes on Me”. A day before hitting the shelves on March 31, this record surpassed 1.31 million pre-orders, becoming the first album by a K-pop female solo artist to cross a million mark.
Jisoo is the last member of Blackpink to share her solo single with the world, and she was ready to take that step after feeling she was growing as an artist and a person.
“Through Me, I want to display my unexplored side without ditching my originality… As I worked on it, I discovered my hidden charms and felt like I was growing up. I took part in its overall production, sharing my ideas about music, the concept, and music video, among other things,” she told The Korea Times.

]]>Jisoo’s stunning teaser shows her wielding a giant poppy while wearing a black-and-white feathery ensemble. It was released shortly after Blackpink’s social media accounts shared a photo of a bright red cloth lying crumpled on a grassy field, which also put the color red front and center.
Blackpink’s other posts related to this project embraced a similar aesthetic and revealed that Jisoo’s first single album ME will be released on May 31.
Blackpink’s record label YG Entertainment teased Jisoo’s solo project last month and set expectations high by describing the blockbuster production value behind her upcoming music video.
“We’re currently shooting Jisoo’s solo music video entirely overseas under the utmost confidentiality. We’ve put in the largest production budget among all Blackpink videos (into Jisoo’s video), so it will be worth looking forward to,” reads YG’s statement.
Jennie was the first member of Blackpink to make a solo debut with her single “Solo” in 2018. She was followed by Rosé and Lisa, who both released their debut solo single albums in 2021.
