We all sometimes wonder how would some iconic songs sound like if they were written in this modern age. Well, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon had the same itch and decided to reimagine Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’“, changing its lyrics to reflect more the 2018 and current events including Me Too movement and “fake news”. Fallon not only did an amazing job singing the song but he even got Dylan’s look spot on. Check out the video below.

Bob Dylan wrote the song in 1963 with the intention to create an anthem for a change. The song ended up being released on the eponymous album in 1964 and remained influential over the years with universal lyrics and lasting message of change.

“This was definitely a song with a purpose. It was influenced of course by the Irish and Scottish ballads …’Come All Ye Bold Highway Men’, ‘Come All Ye Tender Hearted Maidens’. I wanted to write a big song, with short concise verses that piled up on each other in a hypnotic way. The civil rights movement and the folk music movement were pretty close for a while and allied together at that time.” – said Dylan about the song back in 1985.

Jimmy Fallon decided to give New York City Subway passengers a treat and bring them a free live performance of Maroon 5. The catch – no one knew it was them since they were heavily disguised. Singer Adam Levine and guitarist James Valentine accompanied by Jimmy Fallon on the tambourine stepped up in on a platform and started a cover of Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”

Now, while people walked by mostly uninterested in the performance, there were those who stood by wanting to hear this odd bearded band. After wrapping Queen’s hit, the masks went down and the crowd went absolutely crazy seeing The Tonight Show’s host and members of Maroon 5 in front of them. This supergroup then decided to treat the fans with an acoustic version of Maroon 5’s Sugar.”

Maroon 5 recently released their sixth studio album titled Red Pill Blues, first one since 2014’s V. The album was recorded 2017, and features collaborations with SZA, Julia Michaels, LunchMoney Lewis, and ASAP Rocky. Red Pill Blues debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 list in the United States, but it failed to find success with the critics, who gave it mixed to average reviews.

The band also announced the Red Pill Blues Tour, in order to support the album, which is scheduled to begin on May 30, 2018. So far, only the dates for North America’s part of the tour have been revealed, where singer Julia Michaels will serve as a supporting act.
