]]>Arthur managed to come out victorious after a tense race with The Reytons and soar to No. 1 with Bitter Sweet Love. This is his first album since Back from the Edge in 2016 to top the chart, while the rest of his LPs – James Arthur (2013), You (2019), and It’ll All Make Sense in the End (2021) – all debuted within the top three.
Arthur said that his heart was full after hitting No. 1 and thanked his management, his label, his loved ones, and his fans for making it happen.
“It’s been eight years since I last had a Number 1 album, and I’ve been in the game over 10 years. I feel like this is symbolic of all the highs and lows, everything we’ve been through… I can’t thank you enough for constantly campaigning and supporting, showing up for me,” said Arthur in a statement to Official Charts.
Bitter Sweet Love was released via Columbia Records on January 26, and it produced singles “A Year Ago”, “Blindside”, “Just Us”, “Homecoming”, “Sleepwalking”, and “Bitter Sweet Love”.

]]>This week has been pretty slow in terms of new releases because most of our favorite stars took a break to celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones. That didn’t stop our favorite artists outside of the United States from dropping new music and giving us some amazing new songs in the process.
This has been an amazing week for female collaborations, and two of the best songs from our list fall under that category. Kali Uchis and Karol G knocked it out of the park with their new collaboration “Labios Mordidos”, while Björk and Rosalía seamlessly blended their unique artistic styles on their new duet “Oral”.
Speaking of great collaborations to make it to our list, Jacob Collier’s new song “Witness Me” is also worth listening to and features contributions from Shawn Mendes, Stormzy, and Kirk Franklin.
It’s also been a great week for alternative artists, with Winona Oak, The Japanese House, and Sam Fischer managing to beat tough competition and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week.

Doja Cat also created a lot of buzz with her new single “Paint the Town Red”, and used its lyrics to address her recent erratic behavior on social media. It’s been a great week for R&B and hip-hop releases overall, with Jorja Smith and Saweetie surprising us with some new music, as well.
Bebe Rexha and David Guetta also prepared a special treat for their fans, after giving us one of the songs of the summer with “I’m Good (Blue)”. Their latest collaboration “One in a Million” is just as catchy and it proves they’re a match made in heaven.

]]>This moving video captures the tale of a couple separated by the horrors of war. As Arthur’s song plays in the background, we watch a solder and his wife trying to go on with their daily lives, until being reunited again.
“Falling Like the Stars” will be featured on Arthur’s upcoming studio album, and he picked it as his latest single because it perfectly captures his sound.
“This song perfectly represents what I do best, I think. I think that’s the why it became the front runner to be the next single of this particular album. The core of the album has got that classic James Arthur acoustic, honest thing going on,” said the singer while discussing his new song with iHeartRadio.
