It’s been a while since James Arthur managed to climb atop the charts in the UK, but his wait for a No. 1 album is finally over. His latest album Bitter Sweet Love debuted atop the Official UK Album Chart, becoming his second LP to achieve this feat.

Arthur managed to come out victorious after a tense race with The Reytons and soar to No. 1 with Bitter Sweet Love. This is his first album since Back from the Edge in 2016 to top the chart, while the rest of his LPs – James Arthur (2013), You (2019), and It’ll All Make Sense in the End (2021) – all debuted within the top three.

Arthur said that his heart was full after hitting No. 1 and thanked his management, his label, his loved ones, and his fans for making it happen.

“It’s been eight years since I last had a Number 1 album, and I’ve been in the game over 10 years. I feel like this is symbolic of all the highs and lows, everything we’ve been through… I can’t thank you enough for constantly campaigning and supporting, showing up for me,” said Arthur in a statement to Official Charts.

Bitter Sweet Love was released via Columbia Records on January 26, and it produced singles “A Year Ago”, “Blindside”, “Just Us”, “Homecoming”, “Sleepwalking”, and “Bitter Sweet Love”.

Speaking of epic collaborations that hit the shelves this week, none of them created more buzz than Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion’s “Not My Fault”. They both channeled their inner Regina George in this catchy bop, set to be featured in the upcoming Mean Girls musical remake.

We enjoy helping you navigate through all the new releases each week and discover some amazing new tracks along the way. Our latest list is a true treat for fans of alternative music and Latin beats and it includes new music by Björk, Rosalía, Karol G, and Kali Uchis.

This week has been pretty slow in terms of new releases because most of our favorite stars took a break to celebrate Thanksgiving with their loved ones. That didn’t stop our favorite artists outside of the United States from dropping new music and giving us some amazing new songs in the process.

This has been an amazing week for female collaborations, and two of the best songs from our list fall under that category.  Kali Uchis and Karol G knocked it out of the park with their new collaboration “Labios Mordidos”, while Björk and Rosalía seamlessly blended their unique artistic styles on their new duet “Oral”.

Speaking of great collaborations to make it to our list, Jacob Collier’s new song “Witness Me” is also worth listening to and features contributions from Shawn Mendes, Stormzy, and Kirk Franklin.

It’s also been a great week for alternative artists, with Winona Oak, The Japanese House, and Sam Fischer managing to beat tough competition and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week.

Kali Uchis & KAROL G: “Labios Mordidos”

Måneskin: “TRASTEVERE”

Björk ft. Rosalía: “Oral”

Zara Larsson: “Memory Lane”

James Arthur: “Homecoming”

Jacob Collier: “Witness Me (feat. Shawn Mendes, Stormzy & Kirk Franklin)”

Paloma Faith: “Bad Woman”

Winona Oak: “Fire Escapes”

The Japanese House: “Super Trouper”

Sam Fischer: “Hard to Love”

James Arthur always had the power to move us to tears with his music, but he’s really outdone himself with his new song “Falling Like the Stars”. The music video for his latest single is here, and it’s the most emotional thing you’ll see all day.

This moving video captures the tale of a couple separated by the horrors of war. As Arthur’s song plays in the background, we watch a solder and his wife trying to go on with their daily lives, until being reunited again.

“Falling Like the Stars” will be featured on Arthur’s upcoming studio album, and he picked it as his latest single because it perfectly captures his sound.

“This song perfectly represents what I do best, I think. I think that’s the why it became the front runner to be the next single of this particular album. The core of the album has got that classic James Arthur acoustic, honest thing going on,” said the singer while discussing his new song with iHeartRadio.
