Check out Armstrong and Hoffs’ rendition of “Manic Monday” below.
“Manic Monday” was written by the legendary Prince, and was part of The Bangles’ second studio album Different Light. The track served as the first single from the record and ended up being a huge success, peaking at No.2 on US Billboard Hot 100.
Billie Joe Armstrong kicked off No Fun Mondays a couple of weeks ago, covering Tommy James & The Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now” in the first edition of the series and Johnny Thunders’ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory” in the second.
Also, Armstrong has been using the time spent in quarantine to write some new music, revealing that he already has six new songs finished in a recent chat with Kerrang!. Green Day’s most recent album, Father of All …, came out in February.

]]>According to the site, a man from California received the sleeve in the mail, but the package didn’t contain any insert. You can check it out below.
The sleeve looks legit, as the tracklist matches the list of the songs we learned about in the past. “Fire, Ready, Aim” was already released as a single, while “Junkies On A High” and “Sugar Youth” were referenced by Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in a recent interview with Kerrang!.
Father of All… will be the band’s thirteenth studio album and is scheduled for release on February 7th. It was described by Armstrong as “The New! soul, Motown, glam and manic anthemic. Punks, freaks, and punishers!” The record will be a lot shorter than we used to from the group, as it was revealed that the runtime is around 26 minutes.
Following the release of their new album, Green Day will embark on the Hella Mega tour, which will see them tour the world in the summer with Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and The Interrupters.

There has been also an Instagram account created for The Longshot which says that “New album Love is for Losers coming eventually sooner or later. Probably sooner.”
It wouldn’t be strange for Billie Joe Armstrong to venture into recording music with someone else than his Green Day bandmates. He has previously had numerous side projects including bands like Pinhead Gunpowder, The Network, and Foxboro Hot Tubs.
This, of course, doesn’t mean that Billie Joe Armstrong has neglected his main band. Green Day released their 12th studio album Revolution Radio in 2016 and reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The album received positive reviews and was labeled as the band’s “most focused work in years.” Green Day then embarked on a worldwide tour to promote the album, before taking a break in order to focus on making a movie based on their now-classic album American Idiot with HBO. According to Armstrong, the movie is well underway, with the script being almost finished.
“We’ve got a green light from HBO, and the script is currently going through a couple of rewrites here and there, so I’m not sure when exactly we’re going to start shooting, but it’s definitely all systems go at the moment.” said Armstrong in 2017.
