]]>According to the official announcement, Good Charlotte wrote “Actual Pain” after attending the memorial service for Lil Peep, an emo rapper and a big fan of the band, who died of an overdose. You can check out the song below.
“Throughout this century, we’ve seen the whole opioid crisis get worse,” said vocalist and guitarist Joel and Benji Madden to Rolling Stone. “We wondered if we were really doing our part. We wanted to get back out there on the battlefield and spread insight, share experience and give anything we could to improve lives.”
Good Charlotte also announced European dates for their upcoming tour in support of Generation Rx. After playing six shows in UK, Germany, and Austria in 2018, the tour will resume in February 2019 with the band playing a handful of dates in Central Europe.
The band’s previous studio release came in 2016 with their sixth studio album Youth Authority. The album ended up receiving mixed reviews from the critics and didn’t perform exceptionally well on the album charts. It peaked at number 23 on US Billboard 200 while failing to make top 10 in the UK.

What does this mean? We do not know for sure at this stage, but the signs do certainly look promising.
On May 6th, the band shared a recent photo with the caption “see you soon.” Could this be a hint for an upcoming tour?
Furthermore on May 7th, the band posted black-and-white images of themselves during various periods of their career.
The band also recently shared cover art for Garth Brooks’ Ropin’ The Wind and Celine Dion’s Let’s Talk About Love.
The band could possibly be hinting at an EP or album where they will be covering songs by Brooks and Dion. We are not entirely sure what will happen, but it is almost certain that something exciting lay ahead.
