]]>Fans of the show immediately fell in love with this harrowing tune, and the band has finally performed it in front of a live audience for the first time.
Florence Welch delivered soulful rendition of the band’s latest hit during a recent concert at Arizona’s FORM Arcosanti Festival.
She gave a shout-out to fan favorite Arya Stark, and dedicated the song to her because she “saved us all.”
“Jenny of Oldstones” was featured during end credits of the second episode of Game Of Thrones’ final season, titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.”
Showrunners D.B. Weiss and Dan Benioff approached Florence, who was a long time-fan of the show and accepted their invitation because the project seemed intriguing.
“The notes of it sounded like a Celtic folk song to me. I thought it was really beautiful. I love the idea of dancing with ghosts and never wanting to leave. That totally makes sense to me. I feel like I do that every night on stage,” Welch said in an interview with The New York Times.

]]>When you’re an artist, inspiration comes from unlikely places. But for pop sensation Taylor Swift, binge-watching her favorite show influenced her new music.
“So much of my imagination was spent on Game of Thrones,” Swift shared with Entertainment Weekly. “I was making Reputation and I didn’t talk about it in interviews, so I didn’t reveal that a lot of the songs were influenced by the show.”
She also explained that the theme of vengeance was influenced by one particular character on the show: Arya Stark.
“These songs were half based on what I was going through, but seeing them through a Game of Thrones filter….‘Look What You Made Me Do’ is literally Arya Stark’s kill list. ‘King of My Heart’ was influenced by Khal Drogo and Daenerys. It’s even got this post-hook of drums — I wanted them to sound like Dothraki drum.”
So next time you’re getting your Swift on to Reputation, listen out for clues of the epic TV series.

]]>“Power Is Power” by SZA, The Weeknd and Travis Scott is one of them – and it just got an epic visual that perfectly reflects its lyrics.
The music video shows the trio taking their turns sitting on the Iron Throne, and watching some of the most memorable moments from Game of Thrones play out on the big screen. The rest of the video mostly consists of clips from the series, which served as main inspiration for the lyrics.
The “Power Is Power” video was directed by Anthony Mandler, who wanted to take established artists and pull them into the Game of Thrones world.
“The show establishes all these different kingdoms and worlds. What I want to do is integrate the color palettes of winter, the warmer tones and match that with today’s biggest stars,” said Mandler in an official statement.
The For the Throne soundtrack came out on April 26th, and it also features songs performed by Maren Morris, Ellie Goulding and James Arthur.

Catchy rap song inspired by our favorite TV show? Yes, please!
X Ambassadors and Jacob Banks delivered the most powerful duet on the album with this track, apparently inspired by Cersei’s and Jaime’s doomed romance.
This song about resurrection should be an obvious reference to Jon Snow’s return from the dead, but fans believe it tells the story of his real parents Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.
If we could’ve heard what was going through the Night King’s head before the Battle of Winterfell, it would probably sound something like the lyrics of “Power Is Power”.

]]>The song “Jenny of Oldstones” plays across the final moments of the episode after one of the characters sung “Jenny’s Song” by the fire, which appears in the books. Game of Thrones fans may want to take a close look at the lyrics of the song as they may give some insight into how the next episode will go.
Florence is, in fact, the only artist to have been approached to contribute to the epic final season. This is not the first time her music has been featured in the show. It was used all the way back in season 2 for the trailer.
Show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explained their decision: “We’ve always been huge fans of Florence’s music, and the Season 2 trailer with her song ‘Seven Devils’ was possibly the most powerful we’ve ever had.
“So the opportunity to hear her otherworldly voice on our show was always at the forefront of our minds. We’re still pleasantly shocked that she agreed to sing ‘Jenny of Oldstones,’ and we’re in love with the result.”
Florence Welch added: “Celtic music has always been in my blood, so I felt like I could do something with it. The magic and ritual in ‘Game of Thrones,’ not to mention the costumes, have always appealed to me. I am honored to be a part of the final season.”

]]>The young artist channeled her inner Khaleesi in each and every frame of this video, and she didn’t simply do it for the aesthetics. She wrote this song after coming across mean comments and rumors about herself. Saweetie explained she was upset after reading them because she’s simply trying to do something she’s passionate about.
“Our teams are constantly fighting to be No. 1. I dressed up as Khaleesi to symbolize what I’m trying to do. I’m trying to take over. When I first came out with my blonde hair, people were calling me the black Khaleesi, and I kind of just ran with that,” she explained.
Saweetie dropped her first single “Icy Grl” in 2017 and signed with Warner Bros. Records shortly after its release. Her EP High Maintenance came out this year, but we’re still waiting for her debut album.
