Future wasn’t prolific in 2018, releasing a handful of singles and mostly doing features with other artists. He was, however, busy on other projects, including being the curator on the soundtrack for the movie Superfly, for which he also served as a producer. The soundtrack, which featured Lil Wayne, Khalid, Ty Dolla Sign, and Young Thug among others, received positive reviews from the critics.
Future’s last full studio release came in February 2017, when he decided to present two albums in just one week. Both albums, titled Future and Hndrxx, ended up garnering generally positive reactions while having strong commercial performance and topping the US Billboard 200 charts. This made him the only music artist to release two Billboard 200 chart-topping albums in consecutive weeks.
