The release consists of three tracks and was influenced by Flaming Lips and Wilco, according to Wolfhard.
“We wanted to mix the craziness and catchiness of Flaming Lips with the earnestness of Wilco when we were writing,” he told NME in a recent interview.
Wolfhard added that the tracks were not recorded in the studio, but in-home settings, giving them a demo feel.
“I travel a lot, so Malcolm and I usually send Aubreys music back and forth by iMessage,” he shared with Billboard. “For ‘Loved One’ we actually recorded in Malcolm’s basement and did the vocals in a friend’s attic in Vancouver.”
