]]> We’re just a few weeks into 2025, and it’s already shaping up to be an epic year for music. Our list of the best new songs of the week is an embarrassment of riches, and it includes epic new tracks by Mac Miller, Lucy Dacus, Mumford & Sons, and Perfume Genius.

Boygenius singer Lucy Dacus announced her solo comeback earlier this week, and teased her upcoming album Forever is a Feeling with the lead single “Ankles”. The magical music video for this song feels like a fever dream and stars the Bottoms actress Havana Rose Liu.

Speaking of comebacks, Mumford & Sons are gearing up for the release of their first album in seven years. Rushmere will hit the shelves on March 28, and they’ve given us a taste of things to come with the lead single of the same name.

This week also marked the release of Mac Miller’s second posthumous album Balloonerism, which was originally recorded back in 2014. “Funny Papers” emerged as our favorite song, but this record also produced collaborations with SZA and Delusional Thomas.
