Dinosaur Jr. to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of “Where You Been” By Playing Album in Full

It has been 30 years since American alternative rockers Dinosaur Jr. released their influential fifth studio album, Where You Been. In order to celebrate the anniversary, the band announced 11 shows for late 2023, during which it will play the album in full.

Dinosaur Jr. will perform all 10 tracks from Where You Been at four concerts in November at The Garage in London, UK. The group will do the same for seven December shows at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg.

According to the press release, the band will “invite a spattering of guests and friends to sit in each night to celebrate this music.”

Where You Been was originally released on February 9, 1993. While it wasn’t a big success on the charts, it met with positive reviews from the critics and made several Best Albums of the Year lists.

The record has since been cited as a major influence for a number of music acts, including The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and My Bloody Valentine.

Dinosaur Jr. presented its latest studio effort, Sweep It Into Space, in 2021, followed by a live album, Emptiness, at the Sinclair. The group is currently scheduled to embark on a tour across North America in July and August for a number of solo shows and festival appearances.
