]]>Shiflett announced that he will be selling 20 guitars from his personal collection, many of which he used during his time with the Foo Fighters.
The guitars will be available starting July 19th at Reverb.com, a website where musicians can sell their gear.
“I have an excess of guitars that I’ve gotten over the years — I have more than I could even really play and more than I do play. It would be fun to see these things find a home elsewhere, where somebody’s going to actually play them and put scratches on them,” said Shiflett. “I’m going to take these 20 guitars and turn them into two guitars. That’s kind of my plan.”
Some of the guitars Chris Shiflett will make available for purchase include a prototype of his signature Fender Telecaster Deluxe model, a 2002 Gibson Firebird V Reissue played in Foo Fighters’ “All My Life” music video and a Gretsch Brian Setzer Signature Black Phoenix used on the band’s tour.
You can check out the promotional video for the sale below.
After being a lead guitarist for the punk band No Use for a Name, Chris Shiflett landed a gig with the Foo Fighters, who looked to add another guitarist after the There Is Nothing Left to Lose album. His side projects include bands Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Jackson United, and Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants.
