]]>Monét is fresh off winning three Grammy Awards earlier this year, and her domination continued at the NAACP Image Awards. Her debut album Jaguar II was named the outstanding album at this ceremony, defeating Clear 2: Soft Life EP by Summer Walker, For All the Dogs by Drake, I Told Them… by Burna Boy, and The Age of Pleasure by Janelle Monáe.
After winning the trophy for the outstanding new artist at the Grammys, Monét repeated her success at the NAACP Image Awards, beating the likes of FLO, Jordan Ward, Leon Thomas, and October London this time around.
Chris Brown didn’t win any of the main awards, but that didn’t stop him from topping the list of winners in the recording field with three trophies, thanks to his collaborations “How We Roll” ft. Ciara and “Sensational” ft. Davido and Lojay.
Usher was named the outstanding male artist and won two special awards – entertainer of the year and the honorary President’s Award for special achievement and distinguished public service.

H.E.R. was also one of the major winners and picked up two of the eight awards she was nominated for. She was named the best R&B/soul female artist, and also received a songwriter’s award for her powerful single “I Can’t Breathe”.
The award for the album of the year went to Summer Walker’s Over It. The list of major winners also includes Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion. The Soul Train Awards took place on November 29th, with Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold hosting the ceremony.

Chris Brown officially announced Indigo back in January, when he released the album’s first single “Undecided.” After releasing a couple more singles, Brown revealed the full list of features on the record which contains numerous high-profile artists including Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, Tyga, Justin Bieber, H.E.R, Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas, Gunna, and Drake. According to the official tracklist, the release will feature 34 songs on two discs and three bonus tracks.
