Discovering new music is never going out of style, and this week brought countless amazing songs our way. From SZA and Bleachers to MGMT and Linkin Park, a diverse range of artists made it to our list of the best songs of the week with their epic new tracks.

SZA hasn’t dropped any new solo singles since sharing her acclaimed album SOS with the world, but that finally changed this week. She teased the release of its follow-up LANA with a new song “Saturn”, an escapist anthem about the lure of the unknown.

This week was pretty slow for new album releases, but some of our favorite indie artists still surprised us with new LPs. MGMT teased Loss of Life with “Dancing in Babylon” ft. Christine and the Queens, while Allie X promote her new album Girl with no Face with “Weird World”.

It was a great week for alternative and rock music in general, and we’ve seen several beloved bands share new music with the world. Kings of Leon dropped “Mustang”, Bleachers teased their next album with “Me Before You”, while Linkin Park paid homage to their late vocalist Chester Bennington by sharing the unreleased track “Friendly Fire”.

Norah Jones, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Kasabian, and Lil Durk also made it to our list, so grab your headphones and get ready to discover their new songs!

SZA – “Saturn”

Bleachers – “Me Before You”

Kings Of Leon – “Mustang”

Linkin Park – “Friendly Fire”

Norah Jones – “Staring at the Wall”

Reading & Leeds is one of the most iconic European music festivals, and we finally know who’ll be headlining it when it returns. The list of the next year’s headliners has been unveiled, and it includes Lana Del Rey and Blink-182.

Lana Del Rey will make her Reading & Leeds Festival debut next year, but she’s no stranger to performing at iconic UK Festivals. She hit the Glastonbury stage earlier this year, but her set caused a lot of controversy after being cut short because she arrived late.

Blink-182 are heading to Reading & Leeds as part of the promo for their recently released comeback album One More Time… It comes only a year after making a surprise appearance at Coachella 2023, serving as a replacement for the headliner Frank Ocean.

The upcoming Reading & Leeds will also mark the debut of the English producer and DJ Fred Again, while the rest of the headlines are somewhat of R&L veterans. Gerry Cinnamon performed at the festival in 2021, Catfish and the Bottlemen headlined it that same year, along with Liam Gallagher, who’s also returning as headliner this year.

Reading & Leeds will return to Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park near Wetherby from August 21-25, 2024.
