“I have a habit through the years of making records that I just give to friends, or on tape to people on the street or no one,” Hynes wrote in a statement. “Usually this material is made directly after the album I’ve just put out. Somewhat of an epilogue to the thing I’ve made before. This time.. I decided to release it.”
He continued: “I put as much work and care into it as I do with the albums I’ve released, but for some reason trained myself into not releasing things the rate at which I make them. I’m older now though, and life is unpredictable and terrifying… so here you go mates.”
Angel’s Pulse will be available for purchase tomorrow.

In a press release, Hynes said: “My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color.
“A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”
The new album will mark the end of Hynes’ short hiatus after his 2016 album Freetown Sound.
Back in February, the British singer song-writer shared the two new songs “Christopher & 6th” and “June 12th,” although neither of these tracks will appear on the album.
The album which will be titled Negro Swan is due for release August 24th, via Domino.
