While other musicians are doing online shows during coronavirus pandemic, Blink-182’s founder and bassist Mark Hoppus is helping fans settle some never-ending debates. Challenged by record label Smartpunk, Hoppus recently presented an ultimate Blink-182’s best songs bracket in which he declared 2003’s single “Feeling This” their best work to date.

Smartpunk first tried to fill the bracket themselves but realized that is a lot more challenging than it seemed. So, they turned to Hoppus for help.

Hoppus was quick to respond, filling out the bracket in “two minutes.” Choosing between prominent singles and fan favorites, he narrowed down a list of 64 songs to “Dammit,” “I Miss You,” “All the Small Things,” “Rock Show,” “What’s My Age Again,” “First Date,” “Feeling This,” and “Adam’s Song.”

After beating out “I Miss You” in the finals, “Feeling This” ended up taking the throne.

As he noted in the tweet, Hoppus didn’t shy away from arguing with those who disagreed. When someone questioned his choice of “Adam’s Song” over “Stay Together for the Kids,” he responded: “It’s a free country and you’re allowed to be shamefully wrong.”

He also explained some of his reasoning for picking “Feeling This” by tweeting:  “That magic-in-a-bottle feeling. It’s the apex of blink-182. The best of all of us. It was different and new and (in my opinion) groundbreaking.”

NINE will serve as a follow up to Grammy-nominated California from 2016, which was their first studio release with new vocalist Matt Skiba.

Blink-182 already presented three singles from the new record: “Blame It on My Youth,” “Generational Divide,” and “Happy Days,” while a fourth one, titled “Darkside,” is expected to drop in next couple of days.

The band will spend the rest of the summer on the road, with their tour with Lil Wayne scheduled to wrap up on September 20th with a show in Brooklyn. Besides treating the fans with all of their biggest hits during the tour, Blink-182 are also celebrating 20th anniversary of their seminal album Enema of the State while on the road, playing the record in its entirety.

We finally received some update on Blink-182’s new LP thanks to the band’s bassists Mark Hoppus. According to Hoppus, who recently had a chat with Kerrang!, the rock/punk trio is currently working on the for the album which should be a lot different than their fans might expect.

“After playing in this band for 27 years, I want to push it and do different things and take blink to places where we haven’t been before, ” Hoppus told Kerrang!. “We’re really trying to do that on the new record. We want to do with our band what we did in 2003 with Untitled, where we take our foundations and go off in completely weird directions.”

The 46-year-old added that he, drummer Travis Baker and guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba are writing new songs and spend a lot of time in the studio.

“We’re in the studio all the time,” – he said. “That’s the thing, our main bands are our main focus and will always be. We all have our outside interests and our outside things, but we’re pretty straightforward with one another; blink really is everybody’s priority and that’s understood among all of us.”

After founding member Tom DeLonge left Blink-182 in 2015, Mark Hoppus and Travis Baker decided to recruit Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba to replace him and record a new album with them. The new formation released their first studio effort in 2016 when they presented California. Despite the mixed reviews from the critics, the album was well received by the audience and ended up topping charts in several countries including the United States and the United Kingdom.
