While other musicians are doing online shows during coronavirus pandemic, Blink-182’s founder and bassist Mark Hoppus is helping fans settle some never-ending debates. Challenged by record label Smartpunk, Hoppus recently presented an ultimate Blink-182’s best songs bracket in which he declared 2003’s single “Feeling This” their best work to date.

Smartpunk first tried to fill the bracket themselves but realized that is a lot more challenging than it seemed. So, they turned to Hoppus for help.

Hoppus was quick to respond, filling out the bracket in “two minutes.” Choosing between prominent singles and fan favorites, he narrowed down a list of 64 songs to “Dammit,” “I Miss You,” “All the Small Things,” “Rock Show,” “What’s My Age Again,” “First Date,” “Feeling This,” and “Adam’s Song.”

After beating out “I Miss You” in the finals, “Feeling This” ended up taking the throne.

As he noted in the tweet, Hoppus didn’t shy away from arguing with those who disagreed. When someone questioned his choice of “Adam’s Song” over “Stay Together for the Kids,” he responded: “It’s a free country and you’re allowed to be shamefully wrong.”

He also explained some of his reasoning for picking “Feeling This” by tweeting:  “That magic-in-a-bottle feeling. It’s the apex of blink-182. The best of all of us. It was different and new and (in my opinion) groundbreaking.”
