]]>In the most recent episode of SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks, the co-host Billy Morison asked Osbourne if his recent collaboration with the guitarist Tony Iommi means they’ll plotting a Black Sabbath reunion, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in that idea.
“It was very successful for a lot of years, and people wanted to see us. I did that farewell tour… I would work with any of them individually. But as Black Sabbath, I think it’s [over]. We couldn’t really beat what we’ve already done,” said Osbourne.
He also added that the only sad part of the farewell tour was that Bill Ward wasn’t there, but they’ve spoken since and they’re on good terms. He added that the music he made with Sabbath is completely different from what he’s into now and that he doesn’t want to do the same thing over and over again.
Osbourne and Iommi joined forces on the track “Degradation Rules” from the singer’s latest album Patient Number 9, which came out on September 9.

]]>Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler recently made an appearance at the launch of a Black Sabbath-inspired exhibition in Birmingham and were asked whether they listen to modern metal nowadays.
“I don’t particularly,” Butler admitted. “The Beatles, The Stones and The Kinks, that’s my kind of music.”
“I tend to listen to the more older stuff really. More the classic stuff than the newer stuff because I relate to that more,” added Iommi.
Still, this doesn’t mean that the band doesn’t appreciate the fact that numerous bands cite them as major influence.
“It’s absolutely amazing because we were put down by the press for so long, we didn’t really care about that because we always sold out at gigs and stuff in America,” Butler explained. “And it wasn’t until bands like Anthrax covered Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Metallica cited us as their influence, we were going, ‘We’re being praised?!’”
Black Sabbath officially disbanded in 2017, after they wrapped up a massive worldwide tour. The band, however, talked about a possibility of reuniting to play a gig at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which will take place in their hometown of Birmingham.

Speaking to Kerrang! Ozzy confessed “I didn’t like the fact that Bill Ward wasn’t there, for a start. People put that down to me, but it wasn’t me, honestly. We didn’t have the time to hang around, we had to get going, but I’m sorry it didn’t work out with Bill.”
He continued: “[stand in drummer] Tommy [Clufetos] did great, but the four of us started this, and it should have been the four of us ending it. Those final gigs in Birmingham were bittersweet because you think of how far we came, and how much we did, and it would have been good to have shared that together. Maybe one day there’ll be one last gig, I don’t know.”
Black Sabbath’s farewell tour concluded in 2017. Ozzy Osbourne is currently on a solo tour and will play in Tampa, Florida this weekend (June 2).
