Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong continued his No Fun Mondays quarantine sessions with an interesting choice. Armstrong shared a cover of The Bangles’ 1986 hit “Manic Monday,” for which he teamed up with the group’s frontwoman Susanna Hoffs.

Armstrong did the vocals and electric guitar, while Hoffs contributed with a second guitar and some energetic jumping. Of course, both musicians did their part from their respective living rooms and were joined together in an accompanying music video.

Check out Armstrong and Hoffs’ rendition of “Manic Monday” below.

“Manic Monday” was written by the legendary Prince, and was part of The Bangles’ second studio album Different Light. The track served as the first single from the record and ended up being a huge success, peaking at No.2 on US Billboard Hot 100.

Billie Joe Armstrong kicked off No Fun Mondays a couple of weeks ago, covering Tommy James & The Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now” in the first edition of the series and Johnny Thunders’ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory” in the second.

Also, Armstrong has been using the time spent in quarantine to write some new music, revealing that he already has six new songs finished in a recent chat with Kerrang!. Green Day’s most recent album, Father of All …, came out in February.
