Eilish wrote the song alongside her brother and songwriting partner Finneas O’Connell and described their process in a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

“We got a piece of the script, like the first scene, and then wrote the song immediately. And we wrote it in three days, and we wrote it in Texas, and we recorded it in a bunk on the bus, in the basement in the dark,” said the young singer, and added they worked with Hans Zimmer and an entire orchestra to bring the “No Time to Die” theme to life.

Eilish described the process as a great collaborative experience, and she’s set to perform the song live for the first time at the 2020 Brit Awards, taking place on February 18th.

The producers of James Bond confirmed via a post on social media that Eilish will perform the No Time to Die title song, which she wrote with her brother Finneas. The “Bad Guy” singer becomes the “youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song” according to the announcement.

After the news was made official, Eilish went on Instagram and shared her excitement with her followers.

“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock,” said Eilish in a statement.

James Bond: No Time to Die is set for release on April 2nd in the UK and on April 10th in the US.

Besides working on the James Bond music theme, Billie Eilish is also busy working on new music, despite the fact that her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is less than a year old. Eilish released a brand new track “Everything I Wanted” back in November, while also recording a live acoustic album for Jack White’s Third Man Records and presenting it in December.
