The series is set to premiere on December 12th with an episode dedicated to the ’80s, while the episodes focusing on the ’90s, 2000s, and 2010s will follow in successive weeks. According to the press release, the band members will be available for live chats for each episode premiere.
Bad Religion initially planned to celebrate their 40th anniversary with a world tour alongside Alkaline Trio but was forced to nix the plans due to the coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, the group still went ahead with releasing their autobiography, presenting Do What You Want: The Story of Bad Religion back in August.
“I can speak for the whole band when I say that we were so disappointed to not be able to tour this year,” said singer Greg Graffin announcing Decades. “It is our fans and all those concerts we play each year that provide the life-force of Bad Religion. Decades allows new fans as well as those who were there at the beginning to get a rich overview of our entire career and witness the changes in songwriting and performance styles at each stage of our evolution.”

“The idea of a band getting together after a concert, getting on a bus and just writing music, in our experience, that just doesn’t happen. Good writing is really a time of reflection, and it happens at times like these,” explained Graffin.
Bad Religion is yet to tease the follow-up to their 2019 album Age of Unreason, but it’s safe to expect it will feature the songs they’re working on right now. In addition to writing and recording new music, members of this punk band are planning to go back to touring alongside Suicidal Tendencies, Millencolin, and Pulley in spring 2021.
