]]>In addition, Ariana Grande is the first artist since the Beatles to have songs in the top three spots of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Thank U, Next was released on February 8 by Republic Records and quickly earned Grande her fourth No. 1 album at the Billboard 200 charts. The album will also open at No. 1 in on February 20, when Billboard ranks this week’s albums. The delay follows the US national holiday celebrated on February 18.
With four albums having debut in Billboard’s 200 charts, only Taylor Swift equals Grande’s record. Lady Gaga, however, has had five albums at the No. 1 since 2010. Grande’s three other albums at the Billboard are: Yours Truly, launched in 2013, My Everything launched in 2014 and Sweetener launched September last year.
It’s also worth noting that Sweetener and Thank U, Next are only separated by a six-month gap. Only one female artist has had such success, Olivia Newton-John back in 1974/75. With Grande’s album first, the second album on Billboard 200 charts is Gaga’s Shallow. Bohemian Rhapsody is at position three thanks last December’s biopic.

]]>Like some of her recent albums, thank you, next consists of 12 tracks. The pop star also took to twitter to share tidbits of information about them. One of the songs, Ghostin, took Ariana the longest to complete and was the first song in the album.
She also shared that she didn’t plan to play the song live anytime. “If I can get thru it…but right now it’s not on the set list. I just want to have a good time with y’all and like…make it thru the show lol.
One of the reasons for not playing the song is that it talks about her life with ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died in an apparent overdose last year aged 26. A sample of the song’s lyrics include,
“I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again over him, mmh/ I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again/ Stead of ghostin him. We’ll get through this, I’m a girl with A whole lot of baggage,” Grande sang.
The album and all of its songs are now available in major streaming networks.

]]>The music video will spoof classic rom-coms from the 2000s, including 13 Going on 30, Legally Blonde, Bring It On and most importantly, Mean Girls. The singer has shared pictures of herself dressed as Regina George alongside the mean girl’s honey, Aaron Samuels. Even better, she has convinced Jonathan Bennett, who played the heartthrob in the movie to play him.
Jonathon shared a picture on Twitter of the two on set with the caption “Aaron <3 Regina”. Another was captioned with the Mean Girls quote: “You’re like really pretty.”

]]>Ariana’s latest single “Thank U, Next” is not your typical shout out from a pop-star to her exes. Instead of taking the opportunity to slam her past boyfriends and use the song as an ego boost to boast about how much better off she is without them, Ariana has done the opposite.
The song references her ex-partners but celebrates their positive traits. She says about the recently deceased Mac Miller: “Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm / ’cause he was an angel” and declares that she is “so f*****g grateful for my ex”.
We’re not the only ones who admire the pop sensation’s attitude towards love and loss. Her brother, Frankie Grande, has publicly expressed his pride hearing the track.
“I am unbelievably proud of my sister,” the other Grande proudly told E! News. “This project that she has been working on, it’s from the heart. If you listen to the lyrics… I sobbed and I cried the first time she played it for me.
He later added: “We are happy that she is happy, and the message is just so powerful. It’s helping other people, too. Like, she’s helping other people get through difficult times and difficult breakups. I think that that’s really the best part about this whole thing: being able to help another person.”
