The sisters released an explicit version of their hit 2007 song “Potential Breakup Song”. The song’s opening verse went viral on TikTok this year, with about two million videos being made. Due to the buzz of the song, Aly & AJ decided to remaster it and they posted their own video on their TikTok account.

The duo recorded new vocals and added some explicit lyrics like, “Except for the fact it was my birthday, my f*****’ birthday,” replacing the lyrics of “stupid”. Besides for that, the song is untouched.

After their 2007 album Insomniatic, which features “Potential Breakup Song”, the singers took a break from music. Ten years later they returned with “Take Me” and they’ve been recording new music since then. In 2020, they released a compilation titled We Don’t Stop and they debuted a new song in December.
