October is coming to a close, and our favorite artists certainly ended it on a high note. Taylor Swift made it to our list of the best songs of the week with the re-recorded version of her seminal album 1989, along with The Kid Laroi, Rema, Green Day, and Brent Faiyaz.

We can count on Swift to create a commotion every time she shares a new re-recording of her old albums with the world, and she’s done it once again with 1989. “S-ut!” was released as it’s lead single, and she revealed that she liked this song so much that she even considered leaving it on the original album instead of one of her biggest hits, “Blank Space”.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) pretty much overshadowed every album that hit the shelves this week, but some of them still managed to make it to our list. Brent Faiyaz made quite a splash with Larger Than Life and gave us several amazing collaborations including “Outside All Night” ft. A$AP Rocky & N3WYRKLA. Music from new albums by The Kills, Jay Wheeler, and Poppy also made the cut.

We also made sure to include new songs by The Kid LAROI, Rema, Green Day, Mary J. Blige, and Alec Benjamin, and it’s up to you to pick your favorite.

Taylor Swift – “S-ut!”

The Kid LAROI – “What Just Happened”

Rema – “Don’t Leave””

Green Day – “The American Dream Is Killing Me”

Mary J. Blige – “Still Believe in Love (feat. Vado)”

Alec Benjamin – “Different Kind Of Beautiful”

Jay Wheeler – “Repeat”

The Kills – “Wasterpiece”

Brent Faiyaz – “Outside All Night feat. A$AP Rocky & N3WYRKLA”

Poppy – “ZIG”

Looking for amazing new artists to listen to is always a blast, and 2018 gave us dozens of super-talented young musicians who are still paving their way to stardom. Take a look at five breakout artists we couldn’t stop listening to in the past twelve months.

Jorja Smith

The young British singer dropped her debut album Lost & Found this summer… and let’s just say we were happy to find her.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish dropped some of her biggest hits long before this year, but most people discovered them in 2018 after she attracted a wider audience with her Khalid collaboration “Lonely.”

Alec Benjamin

This Phoenix-based artist has been trying to get his big break since 2014, but he really made a splash this year after releasing several amazing tunes, including “The Boy in the Bubble” and “If We Have Each Other.”

Sigrid

The Norwegian singer proved bright future is ahead of her all the way back in 2017, but really cemented her status as one of the biggest rising stars in the world this year.

Normani

Fifth Harmony member Normani proved she could easily go solo at any time by dropping a couple hit songs on her own.
