]]>Announcing the record is the single “100-99,” which features a guest appearance from Washington D.C. rapper GoldLink. The release of the single was accompanied by a music video directed by Angela Ricciardi and Silken Weinberg.
“’100-99’ was something I’ve wanted to do for some time – work with a rapper over a beat and guitar part I wrote – and it’s really exciting that I was able to do it with GoldLink,” said Hammond in a statement.
Melodies On Hiatus will see Hammond joined by a number of other high-profile collaborators besides GoldLink. He co-wrote the 19-song album with Canadian songwriter Simon Wilcox while the list of musical guests includes Billy Idol’s guitarist Steve Stevens, Arctic Monkeys‘ drummer Matt Helders, and singer Rainey Qualley aka Rainsford.
Albert Hammond Jr’s most recent solo studio album came in 2018 when he presented Francis Trouble. It received favorable reviews from the critics and peaked at No. 25 on the US Independent Albums chart. Hammond previously also released a critically-acclaimed record The New Abnormal with The Strokes.

]]>It was recently announced that Arctic Monkeys, Mumford and Sons, and Childish Gambino will serve as headliners for this year’s edition of the festival, scheduled to take place from October 26th to 28th.
Besides this trio of exciting music acts, the 2018 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience will feature numerous others popular music artists from the world of rock, pop, rap and EDM including A Perfect Circle, Marilyn Manson, Martin Garrix, Modest Mouse, Janelle Monáe, Ty Dolla $ign, Goldlink, Lizzo, 21 Savage, Big Thief, White Repeaer, Sunflower Bean, Ravyn Lenae, Albert Hammond Jr., and many others.
During the three days of the festival, 65 bands and solo musicians will perform across four stages. The visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy various art installations, a food zone, and an on-site haunted house. The tickets are already available on the festival’s official website.

The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience started in 1999 as a one-day event and quickly established itself as one of the more popular music festivals in the United States. Since its inaugural edition, the festival hosted over 2,000 acts and saw more than one million visitors.
