The band’s 17th studio album will hit the shelves on May 3, and judging by what we’ve heard so far it was definitely worth the wait. Age of Unreason will feature a total of 14 tracks, including opening song “Chaos from Within” which dropped right after this album was announced.

Just like all of their previous records, this one will draw inspiration from today’s social and political climate. Frontman Greg Graffin did a lot of soul-searching while writing new lyrics and expressed his hope this album will inspire people to do the same.

“When I saw all these headlines about how terrible our world had become, I started doing a lot of reading. I read about the French revolution, the American Revolution, the Civil War, and I started to recognize that this is a pattern of history and something we should never venture into,” explained Graffin.
