]]>Still, fans can’t help but feel a little cheated that Them Crooked Vultures only offered up one album. The band features Grohl along with the legendary Led Zeppelin bassist, John Paul Jones. Fellow Queens of the Stone Age band member Josh Homme was on vocals and the result was one hell of a superband.
Technically we’re still a band,” Grohl told The Guardian. “We practice once every decade, and we’re coming up on another decade, aren’t we? I don’t have any official news but there’s always something cooking.”
Although Grohl’s making no promises, we’re holding onto that flicker of hope. By the sounds of it, Grohl is in as much awe as we are of the collaboration.
“There are times when you’ve relaxed into a sofa and you’re not thinking about his time in Led Zeppelin,” he added. “Then you start playing and you’re immediately reminded that you are a musical speck compared to this man. It’s still hard to accept that I got to play in a band with that guy.”
We may not have any Them Crooked Vultures updates for a while, but in the meantime, you can enjoy this throwback track:

]]>Munky shared on social media he decided to sit out the shows because he and his wife await the birth of their third-born, a daughter.
“Since our family is waiting any day now for the birth of our daughter, I won’t be performing starting on Tuesday, August 6 through Sunday, August 11,” he wrote. “I’ll be back in Detroit. I’m going to miss you all very much on those dates.”
Joining the band temporarily is JR Bareis, who played alongside Brian “Head” Welch in his Love and Death band and was also a member of Islander and also played with the band Spoken.
“But, you’re in great hands with our close friend and brother J.R. Bareis who is filling in for me,” he added, “and of course the rest of Korn who will carry the load. Thank you to all of our fans for your understanding and support!”
Bareis will sit in for the band’s performances in Wantagh (N.Y.), Holmdel (N.J.), Mansfield (Mass.), Hartford (Ct.) and Saratoga Springs (N.Y.).

]]>In an earlier interview with NME, the rock musician confessed that he believes the genre to be “on life support.” When asked by the media platform whether he believes this to be the case now, Yungblud backtracked.
“No, I think there’s been a re-awakening. I think bands like Bring Me the Horizon and artists like Billie Eilish, or artists like Juice WRLD are bringing it back to youth culture,” he explained. “And playing live instruments on stage, I genuinely believe that it’s cool to play the guitar again. Twenty-One Pilots, and artists like that, are bringing the energy back.
“I do think that in America, rock is becoming obsolete. I just think that because of the energy that hip-hop has right now, it’s almost overtaken it. Because at the end of the day, hip-hop is the new rock. It provides that sense of liberation, energy, and just outright freedom that rock used to.”
He then added: “My goal and my ambition is to make good old traditional rock’n’roll have a sense of energy and opinion again. Because there’s no f***ing opinions, it’s just kinda guacamole rubbish.”
Yungblud is on tour this fall.
