Kid Cudi blew the Coachella audience away with his epic performance, but it will take some time before he hits the stage again. The Grammy-winning rapper decided to cancel his upcoming tour after breaking his foot at Coachella because the recovery will take longer than expected.

Kid Cudi took to social media to announce he’s heading to surgery for a broken calcaneus following his Coachella performance, and he’s canceling his tour dates to focus on recovery.

“We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more serious than I thought,” he wrote in a statement on social media.

The rapper thanked his fans for their endless love and support and said he’ll be back with new dates as soon as possible because he can’t wait to be back on the road.

Kid Cudi was supposed to embark on Insano: Engage the Rage World Tour in support of his latest studio album Insano, which came out on January 12. It produced singles “Porsche Topless” and “At the Party” ft. Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott, and its sequel Insano (Nitro Mega) hit the shelves on February 23.

Donald Glover has made a few pretty cryptic comments about retiring from music in recent years, and it seems he’s making it official. The five-time Grammy winner recently teased the release of two new Childish Gambino albums, one of which will be his last.

Glover recently took to social media to debut some new music, and described his Instagram live as “a rollout dummy”. He played three new tracks, including the previously leaked “Human Sacrifice” and a full version of “Little Foot Big Foot”, expected to be featured on his next album Atavista, an updated version of 3.15.20.

He also announced the release of its follow-up, which he described as “the final Childish Gambino album, a soundtrack for the fans.” It will be connected to his next film Bando Stone & The New World, set to be released this summer.

Glover dropped hints about retiring the Childish Gambino act on several occasions over the years, and he previously told HuffPost that he’s considering ending his music career because it doesn’t feel “necessary” anymore.

“There’s nothing worse than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we’re like, ‘again?’ You know, I like it when something’s good and when it comes back there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that,” Glover told HuffPost.

Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar created quite a splash with “Like That”, and its chart domination is far from over. The trio’s latest collaboration returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for its third consecutive week on top.

“Like That” attracted 40 million streams, 14 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 3,000 units during its latest week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This song became Future and Lamar’s third No. 1 single and Metro Boomin’s first as a billed recording artist when it initially debuted atop the chart.

“Like That” was released as one of the songs from Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album We Don’t Trust You, which hit the shelves on March 26. Its follow-up We Still Don’t Trust You was released in less than a month, on April 12, and it’s projected to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, just like its predecessor.

It was also a huge week for Hozier’s “Too Sweet”, which climbed to No. 2 to match his previous peak on the Hot 100 chart with his breakout hit “Take Me To Church”. J. Cole’s “7 Minute Drill” was the highest debut of the week at No. 6 after being released as a part of his new mixtape Might Delete Later.

April is shaping up to be a great month for new music, and this week has given us a long list of amazing new songs. Some of them made it to our list of the best songs of the week, starting with new tracks by Dua Lipa, Maggie Rogers, Girl in Red, and Tinashe.

Dua Lipa’s “Illusion” is definitely the week’s most talked-about new track, and it deserves all the attention coming its way. It’s the third single from her new album Radical Optimism, and it perfectly captures its nostalgic, Britpop-inspired sound.

This week also marked the release of Metro Boomin and Future’s second collaborative album We Still Don’t Trust You, and its title track made it to our list. Speaking of new albums, Maggie Rogers and Girl in Red made a comeback with their latest LPs this week and truly impressed us with their new sound.

It was a great week for female artists overall, and the songs that made the cut cover a wide range of different genres. In addition to Maggie Rogers and Girl in Red representing alternative pop-rock, R&B artists Chlöe, Tinashe, and Willow also made it to our list alongside the rising country star Tanner Adell.

Dua Lipa – “Illusion”

Linkin Park – “QWERTY”

Maggie Rogers – “The Kill”

Girl in Red – “I’m Back”

Future, Metro Boomin – “We Still Don’t Trust You”

WILLOW – “Big Feelings”

Suki Waterhouse – “My Fun”

Tinashe – “Nasty”

Tanner Adell – Whiskey Blues

Chlöe – “Boy Bye”

April is finally upon us, and it’s bringing many amazing albums our way—and some of them hit the shelves this Friday. J. Cole and Vampire Weekend made it to our list of the best songs of the week after dropping new albums, but Charli XCX, Kehlani, and Khalid also made the cut.

Most of the songs on our list hail from the exciting new albums that hit the shelves on April 5. J. Cole took his fans off guard with the surprise release of his latest mixtape Might Delete Later, which produced 12 new songs, including “7 Minute Drill”.

Vampire Weekend finally shared their first album in five years, Only God Was Above Us, this Friday and promoted its release with “Prep-School Gangsters”. The Black Keys also returned with a new LP Ohio Players, and “On the Game” emerged as one of its best new songs.

Several rising stars weren’t threatened by Friday’s busy release schedule, and they shared new music with the world. Benson Boone’s debut album Fireworks & Rollerblades produced a new single “Cry”, while Lizzy McAlpine rocked our world with “Drunk, Running” from Older.

Our list also features several songs that serve as the promo for new albums of our favorite artists. Charli XCX dropped “B2b” from Brat, Sia joined forces with Labrinth for “Incredible” from Reasonable Woman, while Glass Animals announced their new album I Love You So F***ing Much and promoted it with lead single “Creatures in Heaven”.

J. Cole – “7 Minute Drill”

Kehlani – “After Hours”

Vampire Weekend – “Prep-School Gangsters”

Charli XCX – “B2b”

Khalid – “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me”

It’s been a few months since the release of Doja Cat’s latest album Scarlet, and she’s getting ready to revisit the world she created on this record. The hip-hop star announced its deluxe edition Scarlet 2 Claude Frollo, set to hit the shelves later this week.

Scarlet 2 Claude Frollo is named after the antagonist of Victor Hugo’s iconic novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and she chose this title for a reason.

“I feel like it connects to the story of Scarlet in some way, and if you look up his personality traits and who he is and his story, you’ll understand the whole connection… It’s like a metaphor for the people that creatives endure on a daily basis in a bigger picture, a bigger scale,” she explained in a statement.

Scarlet 2 Claude Frollo will be released on April 5, and it will be supported by the lead single “Masc”. The album will feature six more songs that didn’t make it to the standard edition, including “Acknowledge Me,” “Head High,” “Gang,” “Rider,” “Urrrge”, and “Hungry.”

Scarlet originally came out last September and it saw Doja Cat abandon her commercial pop sound to embrace hip-hop and R&B. It produced hit singles “Paint the Town Red” and “Agora Hills”, which both made it to the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Future and Metro Boomin faced some pretty tough competition on the Billboard 200 chart this week, but that didn’t stop them from soaring to the top. The duo’s collaborative album We Don’t Trust You easily hit No. 1, becoming Future’s ninth chart-topping album and Metro Boomin’s fourth.

We Don’t Trust You earned 251,000 equivalent album units during its debut week on the chart, scoring the biggest week of 2024 by any album. SEA units comprise 245,000, equaling 324.31 million official streams, TEA units comprise 1,500, while traditional album sales comprise 4,500 since the album was only available to purchase as a digital download.

This marks Future’s ninth album to climb to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, in addition to yielding the second-largest week of his career, only bested by What a Time to Be Alive, his collaborative album with Drake. As for Metro Boomin, We Don’t Trust You scored the biggest week of his career and it’s his fourth chart-topping album overall.

We Don’t Trust You came out on March 22, and its release was supported by singles “Type S–t” ft. Travis Scott and Playboi Carti, “Young Metro” ft. The Weeknd, and “Like That” ft. Kendrick Lamar. The duo is also plotting its follow-up, set to arrive on April 12.

The NAACP Image Awards are one of the year’s biggest celebrations of the POC voices in the entrainment industry. They returned to Los Angeles over several nights last week, and the list of winners in the recording categories includes Usher, Victoria Monét, and Chris Brown.

Monét is fresh off winning three Grammy Awards earlier this year, and her domination continued at the NAACP Image Awards. Her debut album Jaguar II was named the outstanding album at this ceremony, defeating Clear 2: Soft Life EP by Summer Walker, For All the Dogs by Drake, I Told Them… by Burna Boy, and The Age of Pleasure by Janelle Monáe.

After winning the trophy for the outstanding new artist at the Grammys, Monét repeated her success at the NAACP Image Awards, beating the likes of FLO, Jordan Ward, Leon Thomas, and October London this time around.

Chris Brown didn’t win any of the main awards, but that didn’t stop him from topping the list of winners in the recording field with three trophies, thanks to his collaborations “How We Roll” ft. Ciara and “Sensational” ft. Davido and Lojay.

Usher was named the outstanding male artist and won two special awards – entertainer of the year and the honorary President’s Award for special achievement and distinguished public service.
