]]>“Star” was released as a double-sided single alongside “Heaven” back in August last year, and its music video is finally here. The atmospheric visual sees Mitski paddling a boat across a foggy lake in the middle of the night.
This music video reunited Mitski with her frequent collaborator Maegan Houang, who wanted this visual to offer a contrast to their previous narrative/concept-driven videos.
“I wanted this video to encapsulate the impressionistic circularity we all experience. Our lives oscillate between light and dark repeating itself in an endless cycle where nothing is permanent. The best moments are fleeting, but so are the bad,” said Houang in a statement.
“Star” was released as one of the songs from Mitski’s seventh studio album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, which came out last September. It also produced singles “Bug Like an Angel” and “My Love Mine All Mine”, and she’s promoting with a tour across Europe this spring.

]]>Twenty One Pilots announced the release of Clancy in late February, and it was initially supposed to hit the shelves on May 17. They also dropped the music video for the lead single “Overcompensate” and shared a 13-song tracklist, revealing they’re planning to film a music video for every single one.
This creative undertaking has proven to be quite challenging, and Tyler Joseph announced they’re delaying the release of Clancy to give themselves enough time to finish all the videos.
“When I first told Josh and Mark and everyone on our team that I wanted to do a music video for every song on the album ‘Clancy’ that’s coming out, I told them it’s because I love these songs and I believe in them enough to pretend to sing in front of a camera for each one,” said Joseph in a video he shared on the social media platform X.
The release of Clancy is now set for May 24, and its third single “Backslide” is hitting the shelves tomorrow.

]]>“Too Sweet” managed to reach to top of the summit after attracting 35.6 million streams, 14.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and selling 6,000 copies during its latest week on the chart. It initially debuted at No. 5 following its release on March 22, becoming his second song to reach the top ten following his breakout hit “Take Me to Church”.
“Too Sweet” has been slowly climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but it already hit No. 1 in several other countries in the meantime. It became Hozier’s first chart-topping single in the UK and also climbed to No. 1 in Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
Hozier, who’s currently touring the world with his latest album Unreal Unearth, thanked fans for the outpouring of love he received since releasing “Too Sweet”.
“I’ve been both thrilled and taken massively by surprise by such a staggering reaction. It means the world that you’re enjoying this song so much. Thank you all so much,” he said in a video on Instagram.

]]>No album this week created more commotion than Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets and its companion piece The Anthology. She’s given us 16 new songs on the standard edition and 31 in total, but “So Long, London” is definitely her strongest new release.
This Friday was pretty slow for new releases because most artists wanted to avoid competing with Swift. That didn’t stop Pearl Jam from sharing their long-awaited album Dark Matter, which produced several amazing songs, including “Wreckage”.
The lack of major releases helped our favorite indie and international artists shine, and make it to our list of the best new songs of the week. Hozier’s “Why Would You Be Loved” is definitely worth listening to on repeat, and so are the latest singles by Rachel Chinouriri, Debbii Dawson, Kings of Leon, Kate Nash, and more.
