Noodle from Gorillaz has opened up about her taste in music.

In an interview with NME, Noodle from Gorillaz spoke about the records that “changed her life” and “filled her with fury” as well as what song she wants played at her funeral. Her answer to the latter was none other than rock legends Queen.

“Either ‘Who Wants To Live Forever’ by Queen, or Mozart’s ‘Requiem Mass in D Minor,’” she said about her funeral song. “Can I have both? I like the duality of joy and sadness that defines us as humans, first in life and then in the memories we leave behind for others.

“There was actually a memorial service for me when everyone thought I was dead after the ‘El Manana’ video. Murdoc performed Ozzy Osborne’s ‘See You On The Other Side’ in nothing but a pair of leather wings and full skull makeup. I’m honestly glad I missed it.”

As for the records that “changed her life”, these include The Who, Silver Apples, Talking Heads and Biggie Smalls to name a few. And the records she hates? Noodle can’t stand “Anything insincere and badly played. Or by Muse.”

Following rumors that soul sensation Aretha Franklin was in grave condition, her family have confirmed that she is seriously ill, adding that they appreciate the love and support from her fans.

Aretha’s publicist Gwendolyn Quinn told People magazine: “Aretha Franklin has been the Matriarch of the Franklin family since the passing of all of her siblings. The love she has for her family is above reproach and was evident in the warm smiles she was able to share with her nephew during his very brief visit two weeks ago.

“She is seriously ill and surrounded by family members who appreciate the outpouring of love and support they have received.”

Although reports have said she is preparing to say her goodbyes, her nephew Tim Franklin remains optimistic.

“She’s alert, laughing, teasing, able to recognize people. Family is there with her. She’s home. I saw her a week ago Friday and we talked for about 45 minutes to an hour,” he said. “My brother was there on Saturday and she was alert, talking, laughing, joking.”

He added: “We believe she’ll pull through it, she believes she’ll pull through it, and that’s the important thing.”

Her fans across the world are hopeful that she will pull through it too.

Ryan Adams already has several albums in store, despite releasing his latest studio album Prisoners just a year ago. The 43-year-old American singer-songwriter recently went on Twitter and revealed that he has written 17 new songs, and has four records “on a shelf.”

He went on to ask his followers whether they would be interested in hearing two Prisoners follow-ups, as well as his unreleased LP Black Hole, a live recording of his 2016’s show at New York’s Capitol Theatre with The Infamous Stringdusters, and a live recording of Adams covering Rolling Stones’ legendary double album Exile On Main St.

While Ryan Adams can’t make a mistake with any of these albums, his fans would certainly appreciate the most if he was to release album Black Hole, for which he revealed the cover on Tuesday as well.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BkOMnm5lQw4/?utm_source=ig_embed

It is widely speculated that Adams recorded Black Hole more than 10 years ago, during the time he struggled with drugs and alcohol addiction. The singer has routinely teased the release of the album, and occasionally performed two of its tracks, “The Door” and “Catherine,” during live shows.

In some of his previous interviews, Ryan Adams explained why the album still remains unreleased.

“There’s one where the vocals and the performances are really f**ed-up,” he told NME back in 2014. “Then there’s a second version, which was the last thing I did when I was still messed up. Bits and pieces of that had to be stitched together to make the final product like a patchwork quilt because some of its vocal takes are too f**ed-up to release. But it’s really cool and the end result made me very happy.”

Electric Zoo festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, so we had a feeling the team behind the scenes is preparing something special. It turned out we had our hopes high for a reason, since Electric Zoo just presented its phase one line-up, revealing that Kaskade, Marshmello, Martin Garrix and Porter Robinson’s Virtual Self will serve as the festival’s headliners.

Since there are six spots reserved for headliners, we will find out the two remaining ones in the coming months. The festival will take place on Labor Day weekend (August 31st to September 2nd) in New York City on Randall’s Island.

Besides previously mentioned names, the Electric Zoo revealed more than 30 acts that will play music on four stages. Alan Walker, Anna Lunoe, Gryffin, Manila Killa, Mija, Troyboi will all look to blow you away with their individual sets, while there will be some exciting b2bs as well.

The festival will have 12th Planet and Doctor P going against each other, as well as a triple threat in a crazy Andrew Bayer b2b Ilan Bluestone b2b Jason Ross. Featuring styles that range from deep house, techno, and trance to future bass, Electric Zoo promises to be a great party once again. In case you don’t want to miss it, you can get tickets now.

If these names are not enough to convince you, know that 50 more acts will be added in the second phase. Now check out the full Electric Zoo 2018 phase one lineup below.

Rapper Birdman and producer Mannie Fresh are back as Big Tymers, and they brought a new song, their first in 15 years. Titled “Desiigner Caskets,” the song is part of the soundtrack to Apple Music documentary, Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story. You can check it out below.

Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story documentary talks about the path of Birdman’s Cash Money Records from humble beginnings to being one of the most iconic and successful record labels in hip-hop history. In addition to the new Big Tymers song, the documentary’s soundtrack also contains Birdman’s collab with Young Thug, “Lil One.” You can check out the music video for the song, featuring Paris Hilton, below.

Big Tymers were founded by Birdman and Mannie Fresh in 1993 in New Orleans. The duo released their debut album in 1997 titled How You Luv That, which sold 100,000 copies without any backing from the radio stations. The follow-up How You Luv That Vol. 2 was released a year later and gave the band more exposure. In 2002 came the duo’s most successful album, Hood Rich, which peaked at number one of the US Billboard 200 and remains their bestselling album to date. Mannie Fresh left the Big Tymers in 2002, after a financial dispute with Birdman’s Cash Money Records, but returned for the last album, 2003’s Big Money Heavyweight.
