]]>Lorde teased the release of Virgin by sharing its cryptic album cover and a tracklist that includes a total of 11 songs. She’s yet to reveal the track titles, but they were produced by her and Jim-E Stack, along with Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged, Buddy Ross, Dan Nigro, and Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes.
Lorde sent out a letter to fans where she explained what her new album is all about, adding its “language is plain and unsentimental.”
“I was trying to see myself, all the way through. I was trying to make a document that reflected my femininity: raw, primal, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual, masc. I’m proud and scared of this album. There’s nowhere to hide. I believe that putting the deepest parts of ourselves to music is what sets us free,” she wrote.
Lorde officially announced the release of Virgin shortly after dropping its lead single “What Was That” back on Friday. Its synth-pop vibe drew comparisons to her 2017 album Melodrama and marked a departure from the indie folk sound she embraced on her latest album Solar Power.

]]>We can count on Lady Gaga to put on quite a show every time she hits the stage, and her epic Coachella set was a great interlude for her upcoming tour The Mayhem Ball.
Many of our favorite alternative artists performed at this year’s Coachella, but none impressed us more than Clairo, who emerged as one of the festival’s biggest breakout performers.
Charli XCX brought her biggest hits to the Coachella stage, along with some of the collaborators featured on her latest album Brat, including Lorde, Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan, and Addison Rae.
This year’s Coachella lineup featured several legacy acts, and Missy Elliot’s performance reminded us why she’s one of the biggest hip-hop legends of her generation.
Speaking of legacy acts, the punk-rock icons Green Day made quite a splash with their cathartic Coachella set and stayed true to their rebellious spirit.

Its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande opened the show with an epic medley that included “Over the Rainbow”, “Home”, and “Defying Gravity”, delivering one of the night’s most memorable moments.
The late composer Quincy Jones was one of the recipients of this year’s Academy Honorary Awards, and the Oscars found a special way to celebrate his legacy. James Bond tribute honoring the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson was also a part of this year’s Oscars. Pop stars Lisa, Doja Cat, and Raye performed some of the hit songs from this beloved action franchise, including “Live and Let Die”, “Diamonds are Forever”, and “Skyfall”, while The Substance star Margaret Qualley danced in the background.
